Training & Adult Education

Adults learn in three environments: at home, in school, and in the workplace. And make no mistake about it, education is a vital component for facilitating culture change. However, many trainings fail because they fail to accommodate the sensibilities of the modern global workforce. As a result, we design and deliver custom-based, experiential, creative, and dialogic learning sessions to help your people learn, grow, and transform.

We take a developmental approach that allows the adult learner to thrive in a safe and collaborative environment and hone practical skill sets that will support them for a lifetime. We refer to each of our workshops as an “exploratorium” because they impart knowledge and provide the space for participants to explore themselves, the world, and their workplace environment.

We have three different tracks for our exploratory:

Global Diversity | LGBTQ+ Inclusion | Strategic Storytelling.

Global Inclusion

Our Global Inclusion series is based on three-different core principles:

Interculturalism: Recognizing culture exists everywhere and with every individual, Interculturalism is predicated on the balanced exchange of ideas across cultures. Offerings include: Working with International Teams | Cross-cultural Communication | Cultural Humility.

DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging): Understanding how prejudice, power, and privilege create systems of inequity across the world that impact our communities. Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are the most important variables for any business with a global reach. We help organizations integrate inclusion, equity, and cultural intelligence into every level of the organization, while ensuring that all stakeholders practice inclusive behaviors.

Transformative Leadership: Embracing one’s personal responsibility to recognize bias, promote healthy intercultural exchange, and advocate for greater equity and inclusion worldwide.

In order to be an inclusive leader, the individual must employ a global lens, a deep and abiding understanding of systemic inequality, and a growth mindset. Our Global Inclusion series provides a series of interrelated and iterative workshops to help today’s professional become more confident in recognizing cultural differences and promoting equity. Our offerings include:

Conscious Inclusion | Implicit Bias | Microaggressions | Intersectionality | Power, Privilege, & Allyship | Anti-Racism | Dismantling White Supremacy

Specifically, our Anti-Racism curriculum has three distinct tracks for different audiences:

  • The work of J.E.D.I.: Building a New Generation of Anti-Racist Leaders
  • Stained Glass: Anti-Racism in Spiritual Communities
  • Stonewall Solidarity: Anti-Racism in the LGBTQ+ community

LGBTQ+ Inclusion

LGBTQ+ issues are among the most important social and cultural issues of our time given the increasing visibility and ubiquity of the community around the world. However, LGBTQ+ culture is still largely misunderstood, with significant consequences for the community and society at-large.

In service to the LGBTQ+ community, we proudly offer the following modules to our clients seeking to become more culturally intelligent:

The Last Homosexual: Building LGBTQ+ Inclusion

A foundational exploratorium that focuses on understanding LGBTQ+ culture, LGBTQ+ values, and the LGBTQ lived-experience. This session is designed to help organizations build a more inclusive culture for LGBTQ+ employees and build better relationships with their LGBTQ clientele.

Stonewall Solidarity: Anti-Racism in the LGBTQ+ Community

Helping LGBTQ+ leaders to bolster their anti-racism practice while honoring the intersectionality and synergy between the LGBTQ+ movement and the social movements led by BIPOC.

Strategic Storytelling

Storytelling is one of the most important competencies that anyone can possess in the modern era. Strategic storytelling not only helps us recognize our values and understand our journey, it also helps us amplify our voice and sharpen our brand. Conversely, story listening helps leaders grow more effective relationships, build their “empathy muscle,” improve their emotional intelligence, and understand the narratives of those around them. Under our ThirdStory Revolution brand, these exploratoriums are derived from the Master Level courses that Joel teaches as an adjunct professor, but they are designed for anyone who wants to be a transformational leader.
